Hey People,
If you’re anything like me, you might’ve thought Reiki is a deep spiritual practice that takes years to learn and master. I used to feel the same—until I met Reiki Master Neha Kumar and experienced Reiki through The Mystic Lotus and Dragonflies.
Honestly, I didn’t expect Reiki to be this simple and easy to practise. When Neha explained why she chose to learn Reiki, it instantly clicked with me. She said anyone can learn Reiki and start using it—no complicated techniques, no long rituals.
My experience with Reiki

From the very first call, things started shifting. Neha shared how Reiki can heal physical pain—and it wasn’t just talk. One of the participants, Jennifer, asked if Reiki could help with her neck stiffness. Neha’s reply was a solid yes. She explained that Reiki could heal all types of physical pain. I was already taking mental notes.
What really stayed with me was when Neha shared three real stories—one where Reiki helped someone get relief from chronic physical pain, another where someone got clarity after a heartbreak and one where it helped relieve anxiety. It made me pause and think. Physical, emotional and mental pain—Reiki could help with all of them.
Neha also led us into a grounding meditation during the call. It brought this instant calm and protection and the best part—she just asked us to wear our headphones and receive. No fancy setups needed.
Later in the call, Neha’s student Harpreet came on to share her story. She had developed mouth ulcers during her tuberculosis treatment due to strong medication. Reiki helped her ease those ulcers. That’s when it really hit me—this was real, this was working.
Towards the end, Neha answered some common doubts.
Can Reiki be used for pets? Yes.
Can you start learning even if you’ve never practised before? Absolutely.
What I learnt next
In the second call, Neha explained something I had never heard before—our palm chakras are connected to the five elements. Reiki activates these chakras, and that’s how the healing starts flowing. It made so much sense!
She then spoke about meridians—Ingla, Pingala, Sushumna. These are like energy channels. When they’re imbalanced, they show up as emotional or physical issues. Like, if the lung meridian is off, it can lead to breathing trouble and grief. I was connecting the dots from my own life while listening.
Then came a live Reiki body scan. We were guided to check which side of our body was more active, just by doing a simple exercise. That moment made me curious to try more.
The call had more hands-on stuff.
We did a live Reiki healing to feel the energy in our palms. One of the participants, Iqubal, shared that he often felt drained after practising Reiki. Neha immediately shared tips on how to give Reiki without feeling tired. That’s the kind of guidance that makes a difference.
Another student, Sarabjeet, shared that after completing just level 1, he started seeing changes—he lost weight, his career improved and his sugar and blood pressure balanced. It made me think—what’s stopping me?
Neha then walked us through a Reiki technique to ease pain instantly. No setup, no equipment, just intention and guidance. I felt the shift immediately.
Before ending the call, we did a live guided meditation to clear chakras. Simple steps, strong effects.
Emotions and the body
The third call was deep. Neha shared how low-vibration emotions like guilt, sadness and anger actually create blocks in our body. I always knew emotions affected us, but not to this level.
She explained how blocked emotions can create headaches, neck stiffness, ulcers and stomach issues. She even led a DIY healing for the head and neck and another for the stomach with affirmations.
A student named Sanjeev came on and said he never believed in Reiki at first. But after learning level 1, he managed his anger, anxiety and even lost weight. It was like a nudge from the universe.
Then came one of the most eye-opening parts—emotional blocks in the lungs. Grief and sadness sit there. It can lead to shortness of breath and even lung issues like bronchitis. Neha then did a Reiki healing for the lungs that we could practise on ourselves.
Later, we did another healing for lower back pain, especially to ease bad memories stored in the kidneys. And just when I thought that was the end, she spoke about how the liver stores anger and resentment. That affects your confidence, calmness and of course, liver health.
Here’s what I feel now
You don’t have to be ‘spiritual’ or a long-time meditator to learn Reiki. It’s easy, it’s simple, and it works.
If you’re dealing with any kind of pain—be it physical, emotional or mental—learning Reiki might just be the most practical thing you do for yourself.
