Mediumship – A Gentle Hello from the Other Side

Hey People,
If someone had told me a few years ago that we could genuinely speak to our loved ones who had passed away, I would’ve nodded politely and smiled, but in my head, I’d be thinking, “That sounds lovely, but I don’t know if that’s real.”
I grew up believing that once someone left this world, that was it. You light a candle, say a prayer, maybe visit their photograph every now and then. But conversations? Messages? Closure beyond what we already had? That wasn’t even something I thought was possible.
My idea of mediumship was mostly based on what I’d seen in films — dramatic scenes, flickering candles and a spooky voice saying, “Can you hear me?” I assumed it was all about ghosts and fear. So, naturally, I never really bothered to look into it.
But life has a strange way of nudging us towards things we never thought we’d believe in.
My Experience with Mediumship

I attended a live session with The Mystic Lotus and Dragonflies as their team member.
The moment the session started, I could feel the energy shift. The medium wasn’t wearing robes or waving incense around — it was a simple setup, over Zoom, with a warm smile and an assuring voice of the mediumship expert Akash Kamboj. The way she connected with the energy of the departed was quiet, respectful and deeply moving.
Akash began gently connecting with people’s departed loved ones. There were no gimmicks or theatrics. Just quiet conversations where people received messages that made them cry, smile, laugh or finally breathe in relief.
That’s when it hit me — mediumship isn’t about ghosts. It’s about connection.
Mediumship helps with what’s left unsaid
We’ve all lost someone we never got to say goodbye to properly. Or someone we had unresolved things with — maybe an argument, a misunderstanding or simply a moment we wish we could relive with more love.
Before this mediumship masterclass, I’d always thought mediumship was about ghost stories or trying to "summon" spirits. But this experience showed me something different. It’s actually about love, connection and closure.
I realised then how many of us are carrying words unsaid, things unresolved and love unexpressed. Mediumship doesn’t erase the loss, but it helps make space for healing.
Sometimes, healing doesn’t need months. It needs a few right words, from the right soul, at the right time.
It’s not just for the dead — it’s also for the living
This part honestly blew my mind. I had always thought mediumship was only about those who had passed. But Akash explained that we can also connect to our higher self, spirit guides, masters (gurus) or dieties.
The fact that Akash invoked the blessing of the deities before every mediumship demo session assured us that we are safe. This completely changed the way I perceived mediumship.
It’s emotional, not theatrical
If you're thinking these sessions are all about drama or over-the-top declarations, they’re not. Mediumship, at least the kind I experienced, is soft. It’s personal. It’s almost like a whisper of love finding its way back to you.
What makes it so special is that people feel seen again — not just by the medium, but by their loved ones on the other side.
You can see it in their eyes when a message lands. You can feel it in the energy of the call when someone says, “I always thought that was just my imagination... but you just confirmed it.”
The most beautiful part? Many people received messages that gave them permission to live better, freer and with less guilt. That, to me, is the real gift.
It’s okay to be unsure
Here’s the truth — I didn’t walk in fully believing in mediumship. I still don’t have all the answers. And honestly? You don’t need to.
You don’t need to be spiritual or “tuned in” or even convinced. You just need to be willing to listen.
So no, you don’t have to believe blindly. You just have to be open.
Mediumship is not just about hearing — it’s about healing
I used to think healing meant “getting over” things. Now I realise it’s more about making peace with them.
Mediumship doesn’t bring people back, but it brings back the love. And sometimes, that’s exactly what we’re missing. The chance to hear “I’m proud of you” or “I’m sorry” or “I’ve always been with you”, even if it comes years after someone has left.
You might walk into a session feeling broken. You might walk out feeling... a little lighter.
Mediumship isn’t something I thought I’d ever write about. But after experiencing it firsthand, I knew I had to share.
Whether you’ve lost someone recently or years ago, whether you’re carrying unspoken words or heavy grief, or even if you’re just missing someone and want to feel them around you again, mediumship can offer something deeply personal.
It’s not about fixing everything. It’s not about forgetting. It’s about remembering with love, clarity and maybe a message or two that brings your heart some rest.
If your heart feels nudged after reading this, follow that feeling. Sometimes, the ones we miss are just waiting for us to listen.
